At Waiara Farm we are planning to develop a Bee Keeping project with the view to producing our own Honey long term

At our gate we have a wild bee's nest in the wall of a shed that has apparently been there for about 7 years. ( see photo's)

We have a friend Dion Oleary who is a bee keeper and is willing to visit Waiara Farm and extract our bees and put them into 3 hives that we can develop and grow more hives from in the future.

We have lots of bush along the Waikato river which is next to Waiara Farm and also a large Lavender

garden, so there is plenty of lecture for the bee's.

The cost of setting up the three hives is around $1200. If anyone would like to support the project and share in some honey, you can donate through the Waiara Farm bank account ( see below details). Just put in the reference field BEEPROJECT. The contact us by email below with your details and contact info to register as part of the project.

If you would like further information give Warwick a call on 0274 585 335

Dion will be holding day long training on Bee Keeping through out the year so keep an eye on our Waiara Farm Facebook page for details
